The Heart Behind Teretta Foundation.
The Teretta Foundation is more than just an organization, it’s a movement of compassion, care, and community. Our story began with a single email, but it quickly grew into a life-changing mission to support vulnerable children in Tanzania, particularly those who have suffered from abuse, neglect, and poverty.
Our Founders
Teddy Chuwa is a dedicated community leader in Tanzania, known for her tireless work in supporting children in need. From rescuing and caring for children who have no one else to turn to, to ensuring they receive an education and a chance at a better life, Teddy is at the forefront of our efforts on the ground.
Lenore Good, hailing from Ireland, first visited Tanzania to climb Kilimanjaro. That journey turned into a lifelong commitment to the people of the Kilimanjaro region. After witnessing the challenges faced by the children there, especially those at risk, you became determined to help and that’s where the Teretta Foundation was born.
Together, Teddy and Lenore Good bring their unique experiences and skills to the foundation, ensuring that everything we do is rooted in love, empathy, and a deep desire to create lasting change.

The Teretta Foundation is built on the belief that it takes a community to raise a child. Over the years, we have formed strong connections with people from all walks of life, volunteers, donors, local leaders, and schools, all of whom share our vision.
